Team Brooks is a group of women cyclists based in Toowoomba, Queensland. The team was instigated and nurtured by the late Jon Brooks, a life-long competitive cyclist and teacher who recognised that the predominance of men in cycling deterred many women from group riding and competition. Jon's vision was to share his love for the sport and give women the skills required to ride safely and effectively. The group trains together to develop techniques and to improve their fitness. They support each other to achieve their goals as both recreational and competitive cyclists. Membership of Team Brooks is open to women of all ages, irrespective of any other club or group affiliation. Following Jon's sudden death in February 2007, the group adopted the name Team Brooks in his honour.
